We choose to forgo the estimate fee for BIPOC and trans-femme clients because marginalization, as we know, is a layered construct. While we would love to literally work for free for all queer clients, we do have to make money to sustain a business. Simply put, our reasoning is that the majority of our clientele are queer, white, trans-misogyny-exempt (TME) people and, as a small business, we can not afford to give discounts to the majority of our clientele. We can afford to give discounts and make ourselves more accessible to the most marginalized members of our community. The structural and interpersonal violences that people of color and trans women and femmes face far exceed what TME white people face. As a business run by TME white trans non-binary people, this feels like the best practice for uplifting our community.

Yes we can! Our bid process is two steps.
First, we schedule a pre-bid phone call where we gather details, discuss design, and book you for an in-person estimate.
Second, one of our contractors will come to the site of the project to discuss the project, take measurements, notes and pictures of necessary details, then we write up a quote and send it to you for approval.
We charge a fee of $150 to do a site visit and write up the estimate, this cost will be deducted from your total if you do choose to hire us, otherwise it will be donated to a mutual aid fund that allows us to offer sliding scale pricing/work with all members of our community. BIPOC and trans-femme clients will not be charged the estimate fee.
If we determine that there may be need for more complex design work or permitting we will do a warm hand off to the designers at Full Stop Design to get those details worked out for you prior to creating the estimate.

Once you submit a project request, we can make a warm introduction should you be interested in design services.

We do work on projects that require permits; however, we do not have an internal permitting team. If we think your project may need permits, we will refer you to the very competent and knowledgeable team at Full Stop Design. They will be able to help you determine what permits you need and what that process looks like.

To keep all crew members and clients safe and healthy we have created a set of guidelines for all QRPDX crew members. They are as follows:
For site visits we ask that clients wear a mask, our staff will also be masked, due to close proximity as we discuss your project details.
All crew members will be masked at all times when on worksites, indoor and outdoor sites will be treated equally.
Exception: if a crew member is working alone and outdoors and with permission of the homeowners, they may work unmasked at their discretion.
We ask all crew members to not come to work if they are feeling unwell, display any symptoms, or know they have been exposed.
QRPDX provides masks (as well as other PPE) and at-home tests for all crew members, when possible. If purchasing tests are a barrier to anyone, QRPDX will cover costs of testing.
