MEET THE QUEERS
Located in Portland, Oregon, Queers Remodel PDX provides skilled, beautiful, and accessible remodeling services to our communities and beyond. We seek to uplift BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and unhoused communities.
Our mission is two-fold: Delivering top tier remodeling results and supporting our queer community and other underserved or under resourced communities. We work towards this second goal from multiple directions.
Firstly, we employ and subcontract primarily other queer trades people. The trades are traditionally an industry operated by and for cisgender white men and often exclude and exploit queer people trying to enter or work in their respective trades. We have created a referral network of queer trades people that allows us to keep work within our community.
Secondly, the majority of our customers are women and queer people who feel more comfortable and safe inviting queer workers into their homes. We work to create safe job sites, foster clear and compassionate conversation, and remove barriers that might usually stop our customers from completing home projects.
Thirdly, we engage in local and global mutual aid. On a global level, we leverage our social media presence so that we can raffle off our services to fundraise for those in need. On a local level, we engage in sliding scale and fully funded projects. We are able to achieve this because of our incredible network of trades-queers and volunteers, crowd-funding, and discounted and free materials from community members.

Zuber is an absolute geek for hardwoods. Their artistry and care for flooring transforms spaces. They love anything custom and anything related to refinishing. They have extensive experience in flooring and general contracting and an eye for remodeling and reconfiguring spaces. They have honed their skills and expanded their knowledge to complete full and detailed remodels. This includes full space conversions, building and knocking out walls, drywall work, flooring and tiling, and building and customizing outdoor spaces.
They are always dancing on the job and are full of energy whether they are working out math for a custom angle, demo-ing your least favorite pony wall, or playing with your dog.
